Public service offers two great rewards. The first is being able to make our great State a better place to live and to raise a family. The second is getting the chance to visit and see the endless wonders that make Senate District 34 the best and most diverse district 34 is made up of the best neighborhoods in one of America's great cities. We have the most beautiful churches, the best restaurants, some fine watering holes and fascinating and interesting citizens. We have businesses that create jobs and form the fiber of our daily life.

Every day I go door to door and each time I go out I find something new and fascinating.

This site is interactive. I want to hear about the places you enjoy and your friends and neighbors that help to build such a great community.

This section will be updated a few times per week.

Senate District 34 has a host of small community theaters.  The Victorian Playhouse at 4201 Hooker is now performing a production of Arthur Miller's The Creation of the World and Other Business.  Check them out at http://www.denvervic.com/

On Saturday I met a courageous young man Richard Tate.  Richard survived a catastrophic auto accident after being hit by a drunk driver.  Richard was a volunteer with the Brain Injury Association.  When I go door to door I'm usually talking about why folks should vote for me. With Richard it was the other way around. He educated me.

Check out this, I guess you could call it a sculpture and one of the more fascinating architectural designs which is around the corner from this work of art.

Before it was Three Sons Restaurant it was Ernie's Bar and now again it has the Ernie's moniker.  http://www.erniesdenver.com/
Located at 2915 West 44th Ernies is a great place.

Cafe Brazil http://www.cafebrazildenver.com/ 4408 Lowell catered an event for one of my opponents. I commend her great taste as this is one of Denver's great restaurants.  Across the Street is Billy's Inn which is a lot of fun and has great fish tacos.  http://www.billysinn.com/

One reason for the vibrancy in Senate District 34 is the number of locally owned businesses.  Lucas Paints at 2950 West 44th has been serving our part of Denver for three generations.  http://www.lucaspaint.com/

As summer rolls along be sure to check out the festivals that churches  such as St. Catherine's and our Lady of Guadalupe hold.  You don't have to be a member of the church to attend and they have good food, music and a whole lot of fun.  http://www.saintcatherine.us/. Our community churches do much to build a better community. Messiah Baptist Church at 44th and Irving for example has taken the lead in providing substance abuse counseling for the Spanish speaking community.  http://www.messiahbaptistchurchdenver.com/

We are lucky to live in such a great community.  As I continue my campaign I look forward to telling you more about the great people and places I will have the pleasure and honor to see and meet.
